is approved by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) TO OFFER
I-20 Visas. The process for obtaining a M-1 Student Visa begins with the prospective student making a written application to LA Vocational Institute and sending in the $200.00 non-refundable registration fee along with the enrollment application and proof of financial documentation. Once we determine that a prospective student’s qualifications meet all standards for admission and we accept the application in full course study, we will then issue the student a certificate of eligibility (I-20). The I-20 is then taken by you to your local American Consulate in your Country for use in supporting the M-1 Visa application. The ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and the SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) policy for M-1 visas, require a fee of $100.00 to receive (SEVIS I-901 form). You can pay this fee at: https://www.fmjfee.com/index.jhtml This payment will have to be made before you attend your interview with the US Consulate. |

receipt will be sent to you by mail to the address that you indicate on
your application. For those that pay the SEVIS fee on-line, a payment
confirmation can be printed out immediately after the payment is made,
and used as a receipt until the mailed receipt is received. Applicants
are strongly encouraged to bring a SEVIS fee payment receipt with them
to the visa interview. Having a receipt for the SEVIS fee payment will
facilitate the visa application process. However, if you are unable to
print a receipt from an on-line payment and/or do not receive your mailed
receipt in time for your visa interview you can still go to your interview
as long as your fee has been processed by DHS (Department of Homeland
